An Olympic Disappointment

Looks like they’ll have to set back the countdown clock outside Tokyo station by another 365 days. This week Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe postponed the 2020 Summer Games for a year after a phone call with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.

The decision is a tremendous disappointment to the athletes around the world who had planned to compete as well as the many businesses in Japan hoping the Olympics might deliver an economic lift after the losses inflicted by Covid-19. The Japanese financial newspaper…
